Le 6th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment débarque en Normandie avec la 59th (Staffordshire) Infantry Division et combat en juillet 1944 dans la bataille de Caen.
Il participe notamment à l’opération Charnwood et aux combats de l’Odon, avant que la 59th Division ne soit dissoute en août 1944.
