Rare purple slip-on "CHAPLAIN" corresponds to the identification of military chaplains of the British army during the Second World War, attached to the Royal Army Chaplains' Department (RAChD)

Their role went far beyond the offices: moral support, listening to men, accompaniment of the wounded, burials at the front and constant presence as close as possible to the units in the most difficult moments

Purple is the traditional color associated with the British chaplaincy service on uniform effects, which can be found on various titles and insignia of the RAChD

During the war, some chaplains were integrated into the airborne troops, Chaplains were qualified as paratroopers in Ringway and assigned in particular to the 6th Airborne Division, sharing the risks of operations under enemy fire

This copy is a "CHAPLAIN" slip-on, on a purple background, often considered less common than RAChD titles, themselves already infrequent
