Denim jacket Pattern 37 manufactured by G. T. Hussey Ltd Size 3 and dated 1941

Exemplary with all its buttons in a magnificent state of conservation

Jacket "Overalls, Blouse, Denim No.3", introduced at the beginning of the Second World War as a work and training outfit for British Army soldiers.

It takes up the characteristic cut of the Battledress Pattern 1937, with its two pleated chest pockets and its integrated belt, but made of a green-khaki twill denim fabric, more resistant and suitable for the daily activities of the soldier.

Denims were widely used for training, maneuvers and work in camps, but they were also worn during the first years of the war in certain operational contexts.

They are found in particular associated with Commando units during the training period and during the first raids.

Copy in a very good state of conservation, with perfectly readable label.

Denim jackets being the origin of utility clothing, often worn during work, training or mechanical activities, generally have significant wear.

Copies kept in such a clean state, with their fabric and markings well preserved, are now much less common on the market.
